" YESTERDAY NEVER DIES"
It all began on June 16th, when an alarm went off on the central
computer of the United Nations. The alarm blasted through the
room as the workers typed franticly on their keyboards, trying
anything they could to fix the problem. The President rushed through
the corridors followed by the other country leaders, "Report," he
commanded stopping by the worker at the main computer. The worker
turned his chair toward the President, "Someone is hacking the
central computer, and they are taking all of our information that's
on here, our technology and everything," he said with a tone of worry.
The President push the man aside and fiddled with the computer, "This
isn't possible, how could anyone get past the security!" he yelled.
All the workers shrugged as the President looked at them for answers.
The man at the main computer typed in the security password and gasped,
"Mr. President, I think I've found out who did this," he said.
The President turned to the computer and stared at the screen in disbelief,
"It looks like the Iraqis are at it again, they’re going to try to
bomb
the entire world with the technology they stole," he said turning
to the other world leaders. Down below in the sea Scot wedner
sat
in the captions chair in the small submarine. He was surrounded by
his henchmen who were working at the computers, Scot turned to the
henchmen, "Have you finished your tasks?" he asked looking hard at
the men and women. One turned, "I've gotten to the United Nation's
computer," he said, " The information is being erased from there
system, and it is being transmitted to the computer, sir." "Have you
linked the attack to the Iraqis?" asked Scot. The woman nodded and
Scot's face glowed with an evil pleasure, "Soon," he said," the world
will be ours, and no nation will be able to stop us." The man cackled
and the noise bounced off the wall as if the entire world could hear
him. At United Nation headquarters the leaders met in the meeting
room, the President stood up and told them what he believed was the
best idea for the situation. "I believe that we should bomb them,"
he
said," that way they won't have a chance to blow up the world, and
they'll get a taste of their own medicine." "I disagree," said the
UN councilor, "I believe we should investigate," she said. "How?"
asked the President of Mali. "We will call in James Bond," she
replied, looking down at the table at mention of her old lover.
"We don't have time for it, Sara, we have to act now," argued the
President. Sara put a hand through her blond hair and let out a sigh,
"Mr. President, there is no way that the Iraqis, or any country can
do all this in a couple of days; it takes at least a month to build,
let alone understand all of this. Give me one week to investigate."
The President opened his mouth but before he could say anything
the Queen of England spoke up, " She is right, Mr. President, give
her the request she asked." The rest of the people nodded with agreement
and the President hesitatingly said ok. The people left leaving
the President in the room. Sara walked into the security room and
turned to the workers, "Call James Bond and tell him that we have a
mission for him," she said. The workers typed in the command and
Sara took the elevator down to the first floor. Walking swiftly
she turned the corner and bumped right into her son, "Jimmy, what
are you doing here?" she asked. "Um... you forgot your lunch," he
said sheepishly. Sara crossed her arms over her chest and gave
her son
a questioning look, "You came here just to give me my lunch?" Jimmy
shrugged, "Well ya, besides I also get to miss a little school," he
said trying to suppress a smirk. Sara shook her head and took the bag
from him, "Thank you," she said," now go to school." Jimmy sighed,
"Awe man, can't I just skip that part?" Sara gave him the usual
parental look, "Jimmy," she said. "Fine," he said dismally putting
his
hands up in surrender. Sara watched him leave with a smirk on
her
face, he defiantly reminded her of a teenage version of his father.
After Sara ate she went to the meeting room to find James Bond standing
by the table. James’s eyes widened once he saw her, "Sara?" he asked
in surprise. Sara walked forward, "Hello, James." Unable to keep in
his surprise James told the security guard to leave and turned to
Sara for answers. "What are you doing here?" he asked. "I'm part
of the UN council," she replied. James calmed down and decided to
get down to business, "Tell me the details of the case," he said.
"The Iraqis have hacked into the main computer of the United
Nations, they have taken all the information out of the computer,
we need you to investigate and bring the information back to us."
James looked at her for a second and sighed, "How am I to get there?"
he asked. "Take the Airplane 14 at the London Airport, the plane
will take you to Kuwait and you will drive from there to Iraq
in a car that the UN will provide." Sara looked at James and
bit her lip, "There's something I have to tell you," she said.
"What is it," he asked with some dread. "You have a son," she said.
"What?!" he asked in surprise. "You heard me James, you have a son
and you left me to raise him alone for 16 years," she said starting
to sound bitter. "Sara...." he began. "Don't even start with me
about your duties, the least you could have done was visit! You
said you would come back, but you left me in that room!" she yelled.
James took a big breath and looked at Sara calmly, "I'm sorry Sara,
I didn't realize that it meant so much to you, or that I had a son."
Sara let out a long breath and her tough exterior softened, " Come
with me to meet him, he needs to at least know you if only for a
second." James nodded and headed out the door, walking after Sara
and following her to her house. James sat on the couch, waiting
for
Jimmy to come home, beside him was Sara writing an explanation for
congress. James looked at Sara; he was starting to get uncomfortable
in the silence, "When does he get home?" he asked. Sara looked up from
her work, "About 2:00," she replied. James looked down at his High-Tec
watch, "A couple of minutes," he said to himself. Outside Jimmy
turned
on to his street when something caught his eye, it was some kind of
shadow lurching behind the bush. Jimmy's eyes widened, "Who's there,"
he asked. The shadow came out of the bush to reveal an armed
man
"Your greatest enemy," he replied. Jimmy ran as quickly as he could
with the man following close behind. The man caught him by the arms,
"You'll make a perfect trap for your father," he said. Jimmy jerked
and punched he man in the stomach, "Over my dead body," he said
running toward his house. "That's the idea kid," said the man running
after him. Jimmy ran into the house and locked the door, the man
stopped on the porch and ran back to his boss, he knew when he had
to. Jimmy stood against the door breathing hard as if hyperventilating.
James's face creased with confusion and concern, Sara stepped toward
her son, "Jimmy, what's wrong?" she asked. Jimmy slowly calmed down
and retained his normal breathing, "Someone attacked me," he
answered. Sara's eyes widened, "Who?" she asked. "I don't know, he
just came out of the bushes and attacked me, he said something
about holding me hostage." Sara looked out the window and turned to
her son, "Looks like he's gone." she said, " Are you all right?"
Jimmy nodded, "I'll be ok," he said. Sara went to Jimmy and gave him
a quick embrace, once she did so Jimmy looked over his mother's
shoulder and saw James. For the first time their eyes locked, letting
go Jimmy looked at his mother, "Who's that?" he asked gesturing toward
James. Sara glanced down and let a small sigh escape her mouth, "That,"
she said, "is your father." Jimmy looked at her in surprise, then glanced
at his father, his expression turned grim. He felt strange, and a little
angry, he could not understand why he hadn't come home if this was
true
and he had heard the story of how James had left his mom before he
was
born. Mixed feelings ran through Jimmy's head as his mother sat
down
on the couch with his father, both of them gave him concerned looks
and Jimmy just looked blank. Biting his lip Jimmy stirred uncomfortably
and walked past the couch and to the door, "S'cuse me," he said as
he
walked out. James turned to Sara, "I don't suppose this is a
time for
a father-son talk is it," he said staring out the back door that his
son had gone through. Sara rolled her eyes, "I think he needs some
time
alone, James." James sighed and leaned back against the couch, he knew
that it would take a lot to make their father-son bond to work out.
James walked to the door and looked out into the backyard, he saw
Jimmy up in the tree looking up into the sky. As James watched
his
son he found out that he was a lot like him, it even reminded him of
when he was a teenager. In the tree Jimmy laid against a branch and
looked around him, he asked himself questions like why did he come
back, and why did he have to be hear in the first place. Jimmy's
thoughts began to turn bitter and angry, and although it wasn't like
him, he gave James a bitter look that made his father decide to step
away from the door. James walked back to the couch and glanced at
Sara, "What's with you, you look distressed for a change," she
said with a sarcastic tone. "Jimmy is not in a very good mood,"
he answered. Sara nodded "I don't doubt it, he's in faze two."
James sighed, "What's faze three?" he asked with some dread. "Expressed
anger, have fun," she said. James groaned, "Don't worry," she said,
"you two will get through this." The next day Jimmy woke up in
the
morning sun and looked around to find himself in his room. "Huh, guess
she
got me from the tree," he said yawning. After he got dressed and combed
his hair Jimmy walked into the kitchen and sat down at the table. Sara
was at the stove making breakfast, "Good morning," she said. "Morning,"
he answered rubbing his eyes. Sara turned to her son, "Bad night?"
she
asked. "Guess I didn't get enough sleep," he said. Sara nodded, "Your
father found you in the tree last night; he brought you back to your
room.
I'm surprised you fell asleep in that tree." Jimmy sighed and
scratched the
back of his neck, Sara put his breakfast down on the table and looked
into his eyes. "I know this is hard for you but try to keep a good
attitude. He didn't know about you, that's why he hasn't come back."
"Why didn't he come back for you?" he asked. Sara stayed silent for
a
while, "He's a busy man," she answered. Jimmy rolled his eyes, "You're
in
denial mom." Jimmy started to get up, but his mom's hand on his shoulder
got him to sit back down. "He's your father Jimmy, please just give
him a
chance," she said. As his mom looked into his eyes Jimmy softened,
"All
right," he said. Sara gave him a small hug and sat on the other side
of
the table, "Where is dad?" asked Jimmy, feeling a little strange because
it was the first time he ever called James dad. "He's at the United
Nations council, they wanted to meet him to talk about the case."
Jimmy nodded and ate the rest of his breakfast in silence, having mixed
feelings going through his head. "Teenage hood is getting a lot more
complicated," he thought. At the UN office James sat at the head of
the table listening to the President explain the case, "As you know
you are to be flown to Iraq, but you will need a partner so I decided
to send Jimmy with you," he said. James's eyes widened, "Jimmy is just
a teenager!" he exclaimed. The President nodded, "That's why he must
go with you, to learn to help the world. He wants to be a secret agent
like yourself, so I decided that he needs to learn." "How do you know
what he wants to be?" he asked in suspicion. "From his own mouth James,
take him and show him how it's done." James stood firm and shook his
head, "I am not going to put him in danger like that!" The President
walked across the room to James, "It's not your choice James, it's
an
order." James sighed, "You are putting a teenager in mortal danger!"
he cried. The President shrugged, "Well, we'll just see what Jimmy
says about it, Sara." Sara opened the door and Jimmy stepped through
the door "What did you want Mr. President?" he asked, trying to look
normal. "I want to offer you a job," he answered. Jimmy cocked his
head, "A job?" he repeated. "Yes, I want you to go with James
to
Investigate in Iraq, what do you think?" Jimmy stared at him surprised
by his words, "It sounds good Mr. President," he said trying to hide
the truth. The President saw through his disguise, "What are
you
really thinking?" he asked. Jimmy looked up "Are you sure you want
to
know?" he asked. The President nodded, "I think if I say yes, I will
defiantly be committing suicide," he said. "I thought this was what
you wanted to do," he said. Jimmy sighed, "Well it is but..."
"Then you can go on this to get your skills, you will leave today at
2:00," he said. Before Jimmy could object he was out the door, Jimmy
sat down in the chair next to his father and put a hand through his
brown hair, "Not very talkative is he," said James. Jimmy gave him
a
smirk, "Tell me about it," he said. James smiled at him warmly, he
was glad to see his son without the bad attitude. The two walked
through the doorway and out of the building with Sara trailing behind
them. They walked into the nearest restaurant and sat down, Jimmy looked
at his mom and he could see that she was as surprised as he was.
With his dad and mom and the new situation that had happened Jimmy
felt strange, but he couldn't identify the feeling. As Jimmy became
lost in his thoughts Sara and James ordered food and talked about
the mission. Below the sea Scot sat in the caption chair planing
his global plan, suddenly a man ran onto the deck. "Did you catch
him?" asked Scot as the man ran to his chair. "No sir, he got away."
Scot scowled, "Jake, you idiot! How can you let a teenager escape!"
he cried. "He's not just any teenager, he is Bond's kid," Jake said
trying to come up with any excuse. Scot shook his head, "You're a fool,
I will not let you or anyone rest until we capture him, we have to
stop Bond!" "Yes, sir." "Get out of my sight!" Scot cried. Jake ran
out of the room and swam back to shore to find Jimmy. With Jake gone
Scot sat back and thought about his plan, by taking Jimmy hostage he
knew that James would do anything to get him back. Jimmy followed his
father to the plane, it was 2:00 and Jimmy was still in a state of
shock, along with other feelings. James stopped and looked at the
piece of paper Sara had given him, "That's our plane," he said pointing
at the plane in front of them. Jimmy looked up and whistled, the plane
was huge and had blue strips, below the wing Jimmy saw the number 87
on it. "Is this an army ship?" he asked. James nodded, "It looks like
it belonged to the California Air Force Base," he said looking down
at
the symbol on the wing. The pilot emerged from the plane and shook
James's hand, "Sara has told me of your mission and I'll be flying
you
there," he said. "That's not necessary..." James began. "It is the
UN’s
orders Mr. Bond, their afraid of what your going to do to it." the
pilot answered. Jimmy laughed and James turned to him with a frown,
shrugging Jimmy gave him an innocent look, but the look failed to work
on James. [miserably] James followed Jimmy into the back seat of the
plane and sat down, the pilot started the engine, "Hang on," she said.
As the "detectives" put on their seat belts and leaned back the plane
slowly began to climb higher and higher into the sky. James saw his
son's
queasiness, he took his hand and pushed hard on the nerve. "Ow!" he
yelled,
"What'd ya do that for?!" James gave him a small smirk as Jimmy realized
that his queasiness was gone, Jimmy shoot him a look of confusion and
James showed him what he did using his own hand. After the sickness
lesson
his father taught him Jimmy looked down from the plane, the shimmer
of the ocean glistened in his eyes and a feeling of peace went through
him.
He turned to his father and sighed, an uneasy feeling began to grow
inside of him, he knew that he would have to get used to his father
if
he was going to work with him. "As if the case itself wasn't enough,"
he thought. Down in the sea Scot worked at the computer draining
technology and information out of other high-tech computers. Jake walked
quickly to him to tell him the report, "Well," asked Scot, impatient
from the work. "There is no sign of the boy anywhere, although I think
that he is with his father." Scot looked at him, "How do you know?"
I heard his mother talking about the case, and she mentioned that he
was going to Kuwait," he said. "Excellent work," he said with an evil
smirk, "Take the vessel to the Persian Gulf, and get your team ready
for invasion." Jake saluted him and set to work. After 8 hours the
plane landed and James walked out with Jimmy practically running behind
him. The hours of being cooped up in the plane had made him restless
and a bit sarcastic, he looked around and noticed that most of the
land
was desert and the place was very deserted. Jimmy walked beside his
father as the two headed for the small factory where they had to meet
a
man who would help them. As they walked toward the middle of the
deserted town James glanced at Jimmy and smiled with a fatherly pride,
although he had only known his son for one day he felt as if he had
known him forever. James and Jimmy walked side by side as they turned
and headed toward a small factory called 'MUSLEM CLOTHING'. Jimmy
looked around the area, other than the factory the place was empty.
Jimmy bit his lip and turned to his father, "Why is the town so
deserted?" he asked. "It's a hot day," he replied wiping the
perspiration off his face. Jimmy snorted, "Don't you think that they'd
be used to it?" he said sarcastically. James shrugged, "They might
be
afraid that the UN is going to bomb them, from what I heard the
President was talking about doing that." Jimmy nodded, "That's more
logical," he said. James made his way into the factory with Jimmy
following close behind. Jimmy felt the clothing on the racks and
shook his head, "Man, I don't care weather it's a part of their
tradition or not, I still don't see how they could wear this stuff."
James turned to him, "Quiet, by saying that you offend a lot of Muslim
people, they’re not going to be happy with you," he whispered. "But
don't you think that they'd be hot?" he asked. James sighed, "Jimmy,
you're acting like a three year old." Jimmy crossed his arms over
his chest, "Oh, sure, you care about the Muslims being offended but
you don't care about me." James sighed and calmly brushed his brown
hair out of his eyes, "Jimmy please, just follow me and cooperate."
Jimmy hesitatingly followed his father into the back of the factory
and waited by him for the person they were supposed to meet. James
lifted his head as a woman came into the factory, she walked closer
and shook James hand. "Nice to see you again James," she said.
James smiled "It's good to see you too Su Jun." Su Jun turned to Jimmy
"Who is this?" she asked James. "Su Jun, this is my son Jimmy, Jimmy
this is Su Jun," he said. Su Jun shook his hand, "Nice to meet you
Jimmy." "You too," he replied. Su Jun smiled, "So," she said, "is he
bothering you get?" Jimmy laughed and turned to his father who gave
him a look that said 'don't even think about saying yes.' Jimmy turned
back to Su Jun, "I don't think I should answer that question," he
said with an amused look on his face. Su Jun laughed, "Follow me,"
she said. The 'detectives' followed her as she went out of the factory
and into the dusty parking lot. Ahead of her Jimmy saw a High-Tec
car with a bunch of gadgets in it, "Is all that for the mission?"
he asked. Su Jun nodded, "Your dad is a bit High-Tec," she said giving
James a mischievous look. James opened his hands as she came out with
the gadgets, she put a phone in his hand, "This is a phone to keep
in touch, when you open it there is a small computer that you can use
on your mission." James looked at it and gave it to Jimmy to hold,
Jimmy fiddled with it a bit and watched as Su Jun gave him some more
things. "This," she said, "is a lock picker, in case you get locked
in." James put it in his pocket and took the last gadget from her,
"This is the remote control to your car, in case you can't drive
manually," she finished. James opened the lid and slide his hand across
the disk, Jimmy watched as the car did a u turn and screeched across
the ground with -what he thought was- way too much speed. Su Jun rolled
her eyes as James continued to drive the car recklessly across the
desert. Finally James stopped as the car skidded and almost ran into
Jimmy, Jimmy jumped back in shock and turned to his father, "What the
heck are you trying to do, make me road kill!" he cried. Su Jun burst
out laughing as James turned to Jimmy with a sarcastic look on his
face, "God, you think you can drive without killing somebody! I hope
you drive better manually than with a remote control!" cried Jimmy
who was starting to spaz. James gave him the remote, "Think you can
do better?" he asked. Jimmy nodded, "I can drive without making people
road kill," he said starting to have fun dissing him. James crossed
his arms over his chest and gave him the dreaded evil eye, "I'm shutting
up," he said. James gave him an amused look and Jimmy caught on, "Don't
even think about saying it." James smiled a mischievous smile, " Don't
say something like; that's a first." Jimmy scowled at him, but he could
tell that he was about to burst out laughing, "You know, that was not
a very good position for you," he said lifting up the remote. James
looked over at Su Jun who was amused by the 'entertainment'. Jimmy
used the remote to make a perfect circle around them, then he got speed
and made the car do a bunch of smooth turns then a figure eight, after
that the car came to a smooth stop four inches away from James. Su
Jun
looked at Jimmy in surprise, "That was pretty good, how'd you learn
to
do that?" she asked with a smile of amusement. "By playing too
many
video games," he replied. Su Jun laughed, "Good luck on your case Jimmy,"
she said walking over to the chopper in which she came. Jimmy waved
goodbye
and James smiled at her, they both watched as the chopper flew into
the
sky. Jimmy looked back at his father; James face turned to a scowl,
"Why
did you do that?" he asked pointing to the car. Jimmy shrugged, "I
told
you that you shouldn't have said that when I had the remote." James
sighed and shut his eyes so that he could calm down, "Jimmy this isn't
funny." Jimmy sighed, "Fine you want the truth, like father like son,"
he said walking toward the car. James sighed and thought of Sara's
words,
"The second phase is expressed anger, have fun." James took a deep
breath
and let it out, then he got into the driver's side of the car. Jimmy
watched as his father sat down and turned to him, "Jimmy, this is going
to
be at the least a two-hour drive, please don't go out of your way to
make
me mad," he said. Jimmy looked away and James turned his head toward
him
again, "I know you’re not like this Jimmy, stop acting like it."
Jimmy stirred uncomfortably and turned in his chair, he began to
soften a bit and decided to keep his mouth shut. The first hour of
the
drive had been silent and for Jimmy a time to think. Jimmy was lost
in
thought thinking about how much his life had changed, and wondering
why the President had assigned him to this case. As he gazed out the
window Jimmy began to space out when he thought he saw something in
the ocean. "Dad, I think I saw something over here," he said pointing
at the ocean. James turned and looked at the window, when he did so
it went back into the ocean, "Jimmy stop playing around," he said.
"I'm not!" Jimmy protested. James looked at him with a stern expression
"I swear, I saw something!" James looked into his son's green eyes
and he knew that he wasn't kidding, he stopped the car and drove
to the beach. "All right Jimmy, we'll take a look around," he said.
Jimmy ran out of the car and quickly went to the shore, he bent down
and put his face into the freezing-cold salt water. He lifted his
head and turned to see his father behind him, "It's some kind of a
submarine, I think it's got some kind of a mark on it's right side."
James kneeled down by his son, "You’re going to have to be more careful
than that on these investigations, son." Jimmy shrugged and watched
as
his father looked down into the water, James quickly got out of the
water, "That mark was a terrorist symbol, this case is going to be
more dangerous than we thought," he said. Jimmy's eyes widened, he
gulped at the thought of what his father said, "I guess we'd better
give word to the UN." James nodded, and the two headed back toward
the
car. Down below the waters Scot watched as Jake carefully piloted to
submarine into the Persian Gulf. The ship slowly came to a stop once
they
reached the shoreline, a smile spread across Scot's face as he thought
of his master plan, he knew that his employer would be pleased. Scot
turned
to Jake, "Send the squads to look for the boy, I will except no failure
this time!" he ordered. "Yes sir!" he said. As Jake turned out of the
room Scot turned on the communication system, a tall sinister man came
on
the screen. "Have you made progress?" he asked. "We have hacked into
6
major computers and we are working on our 7th one. " "What of
the boy?"
"He is with his father now because we weren't able to stop him in time
but Jake is sending his squad to capture him, Bond will not stop you
this
time," Scot replied. The man's face lit up with an evil glee, "Excellent,
but remember commander, you must catch him this time." "We will Mr.
President,
or should I say world ruler." "World ruler sounds good, keep working
commander and remember the attack is tonight," said the President.
Scot
nodded and shut the communication system, he turned on the computer
and
filled in any gaps in his newly constructed plan. James sat in
the car
booting up the computer in his phone, after typing a few commands James
finally got a hold of the UN. Sara's image appeared on the screen "What
have you found?" she asked. "Jimmy found a submarine in the Persian
Gulf,
it has a terrorist symbol. It looks like the Iraqis aren't the ones
behind this." Sara's eyes widened, "Do you have any idea of the identity
of these terrorists?" she asked. James shook his head, "All I could
tell
was that this ship was pretty High-Tec, we're going to have to work
hard to bet them." "I'll consult the President, in the meantime try
to
find out more about the terrorists." James reached over to turn off
the
switch but Sara stopped him, "Wait, let me talk to Jimmy." James nodded
and gave the phone to Jimmy who took it and lifted it up to his face.
"Jimmy, I want you to be careful on this case all right? I don't want
anything to happen to you," she said with concern. "Don't worry I'll
be ok,"
he replied. Sara smiled, "Just promise be that you'll be cautious."
"I promise." "Tell your father to take of you, good luck," she said
shutting
off the computer. Jimmy turned to his father "Mom says to..." he began.
"Yes I heard," James said rolling his eyes at his son's goofy looking
smirk. James drove back to the road and the rest of the way to Iraq.
After the long exhausting drive Jimmy stepped in a cool room after
his
father had made reservations, the hotel wasn't as good as the one's
in
America but after the long day Jimmy couldn't care less. Jimmy
took
some luggage [that Su Jun gave them] from the car and dropped them
in
the corner of the room, then he laid down on the bed to rest. James
came in a few minutes later and sat on the couch, the room had an
Arabian style it was full of unique designs and Persian rugs. James
looked over to his son who looked half asleep, "If you think this is
exhausting you haven't seen anything yet," he said. Jimmy groaned at
the thought "Great," he said sarcastically. James walked over to him
and
put a light-weight sheet over him, "I'll let you rest for a while,
but
keep in mind that when I wake you, you have to help me." Jimmy nodded
in understanding as James put another blanket at the foot of the bed.
"What do I need that for?" he asked. "It gets cold at night, you may
want to use later," he replied. "In the desert?!" he exclaimed with
confusion. James nodded, "More cold than you'd think," he said straitening
the sheet. Jimmy gave him a confused look but the look went away when
James put a hand on his shoulder, "Get some rest," he said. Jimmy
sighed and turned around as his father set up the mini computer that
was in the car. With Jimmy asleep James searched for any type of
information on the computer; although no type of information could
tell him
about the terrible things that were going on back in Jimmy's hometown.
After Sara shut off the computer she raced to the meeting room to
tell the President the news. She made her way past the crowd of UN
workers and stopped where the President stood, "Sir, James has found
evidence of the case," she said. "Go ahead, Sara." "He has found
terrorists in the Persian Gulf," she replied. The workers gasped in
shock and the president's face began to look grim; "May I talk to you
in private?" he asked. Sara nodded; not knowing what danger she had
put
herself into. The two left the room and the President turned on her;
"Do you realize what you have done!" he shouted. "Saved the people?"
she
asked beginning to get scared. "You have ruined my plan, because of
you
the world won't follow my order! I was the rightful ruler of this world
and you ruined it, thankfully I can still fix this." The President
pushed
Sara against the wall and tied her up with the rope in the corner of
the
room. Despite Sara's squirming, he could still hold on to her, he shoved
her into the closet and closed the door. "Your son is next," he said
leaning against the door. A shiver ran down Sara's spine she knew she
had to do something and quick. The President walked into the computer
room
and turned his mini computer on, using it he quickly sealed all exits
of the UN meeting room and set off a poisonous gas used to kill criminals.
The meeting room was beginning to fill with the gas and workers ran
to the
door to find that it was locked, the deadly gas came through the cracks
in the doors and walls and soon the entire place was starting to fill
with gas. Sara looked around in the closet looking for anything
that
could help her. She found a rusted pipe against the wall, she broke
the
pipe and rubbed the rope against it. Soon she found herself running
out of the closet, she heard the screaming of workers in the room
and took action. She ran to her desk and set off the emergency alarm
then she ran to the computers and tried to stop the gas. The computer
wouldn't do anything without a code, she sighed in exasperation and
ran
to the doors. Sara broke the doors and looked up at the roof "There
has
to be some way to get them out of there," she thought. Fire trucks
came
in with sirens on they ran out of their trucks and turned to Sara for
answers. "The President locked those workers in their and gas in going
through the entire building," she explained. The fire men ran to the
roof and used any sharp object to make a hole in the roof. The men
started to pull the people out of the room, and Sara sighed with relief
to see that most of the people had survived. The computers had been
destroyed do to the gas and Sara had no way to send a warning to James
or
her son; they would have to deal with him themselves, hopefully Jimmy
would keep his promise. Jimmy got up from bed, although he was tired
he knew he had to help with the case. After his father eventually woke
him up he walked over to the computer, "What do I have to do?" he asked
in a tired voice. James pointed to the computer, "Try to find any clues
about the terrorists," he replied. Jimmy rubbed his eyes and walked
to the
other computer on the other side of the room. He used the sensors to
see if there were any other signals from the internet, seeing that
there
were no signals he began to hack into the UN's computer to see if the
information was still going down. Jimmy looked up from his computer
in
astonishment, "The UN's computer system has been destroyed, I don't
think
that these are your normal hackers," he said. James looked up from
his
work walked over to his son, "Try and see if you can get a picture
of
the computer room." Jimmy transferred the computer power to the cameras
in the room, a fuzzy picture came up and they both had to squint to
see
anything. "There's burn marks all over the place!" exclaimed Jimmy.
James nodded, "And it looks like there’s gas going through the entire
room, only someone there could have set that off." Jimmy's eyes widened
"I hope mom's ok," he said. James sighed and patted his son on the
shoulder, "Maybe they will have something on the news," he said turning
on the small TV in the corner. The news came on in a flash and showed
the UN headquarters the announcer came on speaking an Arabian language.
"I hope you know how to speak Islamic, 'cause I sure don't," said Jimmy,
looking at his father sarcastically. James leaned close to the TV,
" Workers were locked in the room with gas coming in, your mom was
tied up in the closet." Jimmy looked at his father in disbelief as
he stopped to listen to the announcer, "How did you learn to speak
this?"
"An investigator gets his clues from others, and chances are most of
them wont speak English," he answered. Jimmy sighed as the information
ran through his head, then listened as his father translated the rest
of the report. "Your mom excepted and managed to send an alarm of
before she made her escape, firemen came in to save the rest of the
workers and she told the..." The TV became fuzzy and all power went
off, "Great, what are we going to do now!" exclaimed Jimmy. James
shrugged, "We'll wait until the power comes back on," he answered.
After he left the UN headquarters the President ran to the car and
drove to the nearest airport. If Scot and his henchmen couldn't do
it right then he would have to set them strait. He would not let
his plans be ruined by amateurs. As the President went down the street
he turned on the communication computer by the steering wheel. Scot
appeared on the screen and appeared nervous at the sight of the Presidents
angry face. "You have messed up for the last time Scot!" he yelled.
"W...what did I d...do?" he stuttered. "You, Scot ruined my plans word
about you and your henchmen got to the UN headquarters, if I hadn't
killed
them the news would be all over the country by now!" Scot fidgeted
trying
to hide his fear, "I am coming over to your summering to take control,
as for you, you will be officially demoted or worse if you screw up
again!"
yelled the President. Scot gulped and sat up in his chair, "Yes sir!"
he said barley regaining his speech. The President's car screeched
into the
airport parking lot, he ran into the pilot of a small plane and jumped
into it as the car was still running. He got the airplane up into the
air and smiled as the car crashed into the airport signal tower,
"This is it," he thought as the plane got higher into the sky. The
plane soared over land and sea and for many it symbolized the death
of
hundreds. James sat by his son typing away at the computer, he looked
for any evidence that he could. Jimmy thought for a minute then turned
to his dad, "Maybe we could try to hack into their computer," he said.
"How can do that with out any pass word or clue about their computer
code?" he asked. "I can hack into some of the major computer systems,
if the terrorists have gotten into the system we should be able to
trace the energy back to the terrorist’s computer system." James nodded
"You could," he said, "But that is easier said than done." Jimmy gave
him a sly grin, "Relax, I’ve done it before." James turned to him
with a surprised look as Jimmy typed in the commands and push a disk
into the drive. The computer skipped the code and went into the system,
Jimmy used the sensors to trace the energy. "The code is 6h92h86ke,"
he said. "How did you get past the security system?" asked James.
Jimmy gave the disk to his father, "Code breaker, great," he said
sighing. Jimmy grin and wrote the code down, then he quickly got out
of the system and back to the internet. The computer made a slow
beeping noise as it took the code that Jimmy had typed in. Jimmy watched
as the computer screen finally showed the data from the terrorists
system. Taking a disk he shoved it into the drive and got it down loaded
the info onto the disk, as soon as he did the computer set off the
alarm. Jimmy quickly got out of the system and shut off the computer,
he bit his lip, "I think they might know that I hacked into their
system," he said. James shook his head; "You may know a lot about
computers, but you still need to learn to be sneaky if you want to
be a secret agent," he said. Jimmy sighed and looked away, although
anger was starting to bubble up inside of him, he knew that his father
was right. Down in the sea Scot heard a beeping noise coming
from the
computer, he raised over to it and moved the mouse to get rid of the
screen savor. He watched in terror as the numbers and plans on the
computer swept away, "Jake!" he yelled. the man came running into the
room, "Yes sir?" he asked trying not to tremble. "You were supposed
to
watch this computer!" he yelled, "Because of you all of my plans and
information are being erased by a hacker!" Scot crept closer to the
trembling man, "Do you know what this means? You have ruined the entire
plan, you imbecile!" Jake stepped backward but did not get away soon
enough, Scot stabbed him to death with a broken piece of metal, "Now
no one will get in my way!" he cried. He lifted the dead body and
threw it into the henchmen's quarters, "See what happens when people
don't
do their job!" he yelled. The men stepped back in horror and pushed
the dead man into the sea, with anger in their hearts they decided
that
it was now time for mutiny. Closing the doors they discussed their
mutiny plan. Jimmy woke up by his computer early in the morning, he
looked over at the info that he had gotten and stuffed it into his
bag.
As he got up he looked over to his father, he yawed and meet his gaze,
"Sleeping on the job, son?" Jimmy looked at him sarcastically, "Like
your one to talk," he said seeing his father slouched over the computer.
An amused grin spread across James's face, he got up from the computer
and walked over to his son. Jimmy rolled over to see his father standing
over him with his hand outstretched to him. "Come on Jimmy, its time
to
get up," he said. Jimmy sighed and looked at his father dismally, "Why
me?" he asked as James pulled him up. "Defiantly not a morning person,"
James thought. Jimmy followed his father out of the room, "Where are
we
going now?" he asked. James turned to him, "We're just going to get
some
breakfast," he replied, noticing the dismal tone in his son's voice.
Jimmy sighed and crossed his arms over his chest as his father lead
him across the street and into a restaurant. The restaurant seemed
very
old fashioned, but that was part of what made the Iraqis what they
are
today; an old fashioned life. James realized this and did his best
to
act like the other people in the town, Jimmy just acted like an American
teenager. As the two made their was into the restaurant Jimmy noticed
that many of the Iraqis in the place were starting at him, "What?"
he asked with some annoyance. The people looked away and shook there
heads saying that any teen in their society would be much more
respectful to their superiors. James tapped his son lightly and Jimmy
turned to him, "You have to act more respectful here, they are more
strict than Americans," he said. Jimmy gave him a sarcastic look
"People should be able to act like themselves no matter what country
that their in," he said. "Yes they should, so start acting like
yourself, "James replied. Jimmy shot him a confused look, "You are
like
you have some kind of hormone problem, why are you in such a bad mood?"
he asked. Jimmy's anger started building until he couldn't take it
any
more, "I wouldn't be in such a bad mood if you didn't get me pissed
off in the first place!" he yelled. James looked at him in surprise,
"What have I done to make you angry?" "First it was the stupid remark
about sleeping on the job, then you made me feel like an idiot by
saying that I wasn't being respectful..." "First of all it was just
a joke, second of all, I was just telling you how to fit in," James
said cutting his son off. "Why should it matter if I fit in or not?!"
James sighed, "I don't want to fight, Jimmy." "Then you should have
thought of that before you started the argument!" he shouted. The
Iraqis started to quietly walk away as the argument continued, one
looked back and sighed, these two had to get over all this somehow,
and quick. After the frightening experience with the President Sara
laid down, the President's last words to her went through her mind,
the haunted her and made her paranoid. She looked around the room
franticly, trying to find some way to communicate with her son.
She looked and looked but couldn't find anything, she hoped with all
her might that James would keep him safe. She locked the doors and
stayed
in all night worrying about her son and her safety. Answering the questions
of many reporters had made her exhausted and before she knew it she
fell
asleep tired and worried. She vowed that the next day she would do
all
in her power to save her son. Down in the sea the President sat at
the
controls of his mini sumerine, he knew it was time to take control
of the mission to stop James Bond and his son. He drove the small
ship into the Persian gulf and made his way into the big sumerine
and stepped on board looking at his hired men with evil, angry eyes.
"From now on you will obey me, every deception you bone-heads make
will
go through me and if you cant do it right your as good as dead is that
clear!" he yelled in a threatening voice. The henchmen nodded, their
eyes widened in fear. The President moved past the men and sat in the
caption's chair, "Send Scot to me!" he commanded. Scot arrived a few
minutes later with two henchmen holding on to him, he was forced to
sit into the chair by the President and held down. "Now Scot, since
you have failed to keep yourself hidden, we must attack sooner
than planed, that means that you must find that boy at once I don't
want any more excuses! I want you to send your men and see that the
boy is captured, then you must ready the troops and start the master
plan that you've been talking about." Scot looked at the man with wariness
and bit his lip, "I'm afraid I have some bad news." "What now?" asked
the
President in an annoyed tone. "The information for my plan has been
erased off of the computer systems memory, some hacker took it all
off,"
he replied. The President's face turned bright red, "Then you will
make
another one! I want this attack figured out by tomorrow!" he yelled.
Scot trembled, "Yes, sir," he said running out of the room. The henchmen
turned to each other, "Let's see if his little plan will work after
he
gets killed," one of them sneered. The others let out evil laughs and
went back into the steering deck to pretend that they were working.
Jimmy stood by his father with his face bright red from the argument
all the anger that he had held inside came pouring out in hurting
sentences. "I am sick of you always telling what to do and how I'm
supposed
to do them, you can't just butt into my life and expect me to be happy
about it!" Jimmy cried. "Jimmy, I'm your father and I want to be a
part
of your life because you are my son. I know that I can't expect you
to
be happy about it, but over a little time you'll be glad that I'm at
least trying." Jimmy looked at him dismally, "You could have been a
part
of my life when you had the chance." "Son, I didn't even know that
you
existed until a couple days ago this is my only chance," James replied.
"You could have known earlier if you had come back." James sighed
"I had a lot of work to do..." he started. "Don't even talk to me about
your work, you could have at least came back to visit for a while,
you
could have at least tried to call mom!" Angry tears started running
down Jimmy's check and James looked at him in sympathy, "I'm sorry
Jimmy,
but I'm afraid I was never one to stick to one girl for long. I'm not
saying that I'm proud of it, that's just the way it was." Jimmy walked
toward the door, "You don't care about the pain you caused her, you
don't care about anybody!" James ran after him, "Wait, please just
give
me one more chance, I'm your father." Jimmy turned and looked into
his
father's blue eyes, "Maybe I don't want you as my father," he said
with
hurt in his voice. Jimmy turned and walked away from the restraint,
James called after him but Jimmy didn't bother to turn, "Just leave
me
alone!" he cried. James stepped back and watched his son run to the
beach, he shook his head and decided to wait for him. He sat down
and went through his own thoughts trying to get rid of the pain his
son's words had caused him. He knew it was just a phase and that he
didn't mean any of the words, but the words seemed to haunt him as
he tried to clear his mind. Jimmy stopped running when he got to the
end of the beach, he laid down and since he was overcome with emotions
he cried. Weather it was anger tears or sad he didn't know, all he
knew was that his whole world was turning upside-down. All of a sudden
a man came up from the water and walked over to Jimmy, "Well, well
what have we here," he said looking down at him. Jimmy looked up to
see a familiar face, "You, you're the one who tried to capture me!"
he exclaimed backing up from the man. The man nodded with an evil grin
on his face, behind him ten other men came up with bags in their hands.
Jimmy got up and quickly jumped back and ran toward his father, the
other men ran after him with an evil fire in their eyes. "Dad!" Jimmy
yelled. James looked up to see his son being chased by eleven men,
he jumped up and ran toward the crowd. Putting his son behind him James
kicked the first man in the head. The man fell down and got kicked
in
the ribs, he rolled down the beach tripping some of the men behind
him. James pushed one man in the ribs then kicked another in the
stomach. Jimmy watched in surprise as four men ran away in surrender,
"Cool, I can do this to," he thought. Jimmy ran to his father's
side and attempted to kick a man in the ribs, the man caught his foot
And shoved him down to the ground. The man tried to take Jimmy but
his father punched the man and made him drop down to the ground. Jimmy
held his side for a minute and tried again, he punched a man in the
stomach but it didn't have any effect. The man kicked Jimmy in the
ribs and punched him as he fell to the ground, Jimmy managed to kick
the guy off but it didn't keep him away. The man came back and kicked
him so hard it made Jimmy yell, James knocked the man unconscious and
watched as the others ran away in retreat. James knelt by his son and
shook his head, "How do you expect to stay safe when you keep getting
yourself into trouble?" he asked. Jimmy stirred uncomfortably and
shrugged, James sighed and looked at him in sympathy, "Are you all
right?" "I've been better," Jimmy replied. James sighed, "I'm sure
you have," he said helping him son get up. James patted his son in
the chest and Jimmy's face wrinkled up in pain. James sighed and
pressed against the bones in his son's chest, "You certainly got
yourself bruised up," he said. The two walked back to the small old
hotel, and James had a nurse bandage Jimmy’s wounds. Jimmy's anger
had
been drained out of him because of the experience he had been through,
he felt guilty for what he had said but still a little uncertain. Jimmy
looked up in hesitation, “Dad, I’m sorry for what I said.” James gave
Jimmy a small pat on the shoulder, “That’s all right Jimmy.”
Jimmy sighed and smiled, he was glad that the fight between them
was over, but he still felt a little insecure around him. James
fixed the wound on his son’s shoulder then but him on the bed
to rest, “You can’t act so reckless Jimmy, you did
promise your mom that you would be careful,” he said. “I know,”
Jimmy replied, starting to feel a little guilty. James looked
down at him with sympathy, “Tell you what kid, I’ll teach you a
little karate when you get better as long as you promise not to
use it recklessly.” “Ok, I promise,” he replied. James nodded and
gave him a small smile, “Get some rest.” James walked over to the
computer and turned to glance at his son who was snug in the bed.
For the first time James had finally understood the first steps
to become a father. He turned to the computer and started to type
away, waiting till his son was rested enough to help him. Back
in Jimmy’s home-town Sara walked by what was the United Nations
building, the sight of it seemed to haunt her with the memory of
the past experience she had gone through. Although she couldn’t
find any useable communication device, she never gave up hope;
she was determined to do anything in her power to try to keep her
son safe. “How could I have let him go in the first place” she
thought as she went through the pile of rubble. Sara pushed a
bunch of steal out of the way and dug deeper into the pile, a
smile came to her face as she uncovered a fixable communication
device. She held it tight in her hand as she walked back to her
house with a rush of relief. Putting the device on the counter
she got the tools from her basement and rushed back to the table.
She worked on the project for an hour and finally got it working,
James appeared on the screen, “Sara! How did you contact us!” he
exclaimed. “There’s no time for that James, Jimmy is in great
danger,” Sara said cutting him off. James shot her a confused
looked, “By who?” he asked. Sara was just about to talk when two
men came crashing through the door way, one man shot the device
with his gun and held up a bag looking at Sara with an evil glint
in his eye, “Your not getting away with this one lady,” he said.
Sara gasped, “Who are you?” she demanded. “Workers for the
President mam and let me tell you, he is not happy with your work.”
Sara jumped up and tried to run away but the man caught her by
her arm and shoved her into the bag. The other men came around
her and tied her hands and feet together holding her still as
one man knocked her unconscious. The men looked up to the head
henchmen, “Should we take her to the President sir?” one asked.
The man shook his head, “We’ll just let this be a warning for now,
chances are she won’t remember a thing.” The others nodded and tied
her to the nearest poll then followed the head man as he walked out
of the door and back to their headquarters. They walked in one
by one through a small door leading to a room filled with
technology. The leader took off his helmet and walked over to the
commander, “Sir, we found the woman trying to send signals to
James and his son,” he said. “Well, did you stop her?” he asked
impatiently. The man nodded and watched the other men walk to their
quarters, the commander stood up straight, “Where is she?” he
asked. “She’s tied up in her house,” the man answered. The
commanders face turned bright red, “You idiot! Don’t you realize
that she could have escaped by now!?” The man gulped but tried
not to show his fear, “I thought that we could leave her with a
warning,” he said. “Bring her here, we’ll figure out what to do
with her when she’s here and has no escape,” the commander ordered.
“Yes sir.” The man signaled the other henchmen and lead them to the
house at full speed. Although the leader of the group had been an
evil henchmen for so long, he had a guilty and soft-hearted feeling
inside that just seemed to want to burst out. “I have to obey the
commander, it’s the only way to stay alive,” he thought. And although
he tried to convince himself that this was the right thing to do,
he could never believe it in his heart. At the Arabic hotel James
sat by the computer flabbergasted at the sight of the fuzzy screen.
Jimmy tossed and turned on the small and low bed, “What’s wrong?”
He asked as he saw his father’s expression. James turned slowly,
“Your mother is in danger,” he replied. Jimmy’s eyes widened, he
quickly got out of the bed and sat by his father, “What happened?”
he asked. “Your mother communicated with us a few minutes ago when,
you were sleeping, I heard men behind her and the computer went
fuzzy.” Jimmy looked around in hope, “There’s gotta be a way to help
her,” he said. James took his phone out of his pocket looked over
to Jimmy, “What’s the number for Chico ’s police department?” he
asked. “What do you mean what’s the number?!” he asked in an
sarcastic tone, “911!” James crossed his arms over his chest, “You
know what I mean.” Jimmy sighed and gave him a small smirk, “984
is the area code.” James sighed shaking his head as he looked
at Jimmy, then he dialed the numbers and put the phone up to his
ear. “Hello this is James Bond, there is an emergency in your
town.” James looked at his son, “What’s the address?” he asked.
“4860 sycamore drive,” Jimmy replied looking at James with urgency.
James nodded, “The address is 4860 sycamore drive,” he repeated,
“All right, hurry.” James hung up the phone and got up, Jimmy got
to his feet, “So, what’d she say?” he asked. “The police are going
to be there in a few minutes,” James replied. “Oh, great, what if
mom ’s going to be dead in a few minutes!” James closed his eyes
for a few minutes, “Jimmy, your mother’s a tough lady, she’ll be
all right.” Jimmy crossed his arms over his chest, his expression
filled with worry, “Trust me,” James said noticing Jimmy’s worry.
Looking up Jimmy sighed and followed his father to the equipment,
“Are you sure about this?” he asked uneasily. James put his arm
around Jimmy’s shoulders, “I’m sure,” he said. Sara had been
unconscious for about a half hour before her eyes opened again,
her shoulder-length blond hair was matted and tangled around her
face. As she pulled herself together she slowly remembered what
had happened, she looked around for some way to get free from the
pole. She quickly clutched a sharp piece of glass that had broken
off the window when she was attached and started cutting the rope.
Suddenly she heard foot steps coming toward her from the left, she
panicked and worked faster until the rope was cut. Her hand was
bloody, but she was so paranoid that she didn’t even feel it or
care about it. She quickly got up and ran as fast as she could,
not even knowing where she was headed. She heard footsteps running
behind her, she turned to take a quick glance then ran as fast
as she could. It was the same men that had tied her up in her home.
The men ran after her going faster and faster, the leader of the
henchmen signaled the rest of them and they all tried to cut her
off, before Sara knew it she was surrounded by henchmen. The men
formed a circle and the leader came into the circle by Sara, “The
commander knows about your attempt to stop us and has decided that
we must keep you supervised, you can not run any longer, you will
come with us.” With that said the man took Sara by the arm and
started to lead her back to the base. Suddenly ten police cars
came out of nowhere and surrounded the group, the people came out
of their cars, “Put your hands on your head and let the woman go,”
one said. The henchmen pretended to do so, then pulled out their
guns, a war started between the men and the police and the lead
henchmen quickly took Sara past the battle field. The man pulled
her closer and closer to the secret base, but Sara stopped him
by grabbing a near-by pole. “Why are you doing this to me?” she
asked. The man stopped cold, “Because I was ordered to, and the
best henchman follows orders,” he replied. Sara looked at the man,
he appeared to be brainwashed, “The best henchman is no henchman
at all,” she said matter-of-factly. The man turned to her and
finally felt his conscience take over his actions, he sighed
“You don’t really want to do this do you?” Sara asked. The man
shook his head, “I just want to get away from this life.” “If
you promise to help me I want press any charges, and you will be
able to start a new life.” Sara looked into the man’s eyes and saw
his pure innocence, “Please, this will help you get a clean slate,”
Sara said, trying to con him into it. The man nodded and took her
back to the field. The cops captured most of the henchmen, the
other ones ran away, a police woman came up to them ready to take
the man standing next to her. Sara held her hand up, “Don’t worry,
he’s a friend.” Jimmy stood by his father on the desert sand, he
posed in the fighting position that his father had taught him.
James watched Jimmy carefully, “When an opponent tries to kick
you, grab the foot and twist it so that the person falls down.”
Jimmy nodded, and watched his father carefully as he did his move.
When James foot came up he grabbed it, but could only strain to
twist it. “Stop!” James called. He walked closer to Jimmy, “When
you try to twist a foot, you want to grab the foot right there,”
he said pointing to the joint on his foot. “K,” Jimmy replied after
taking a big breath. James backed up and did his move again, Jimmy
concentrated and did what his father told him to. James started to
go down but he used his other foot for balance, “Concentrate, what
do you think you should do next?” Jimmy shot him a confused look
but James just stood, “Use your wits,” Jimmy sighed then punched
his father in the stomach, James fell down and Jimmy’s eyes
widened, “Are you ok?” he asked as he hovered over his father.
James started coughing, “That was very good,” he said. Jimmy gave
him an amused look, “That was defiantly not the
reaction I expected,” he said. James let out a small sigh, “Expect
the unexpected,” he said as Jimmy helped him up, “Do you want to
try this again or do you want a break to rest?” Jimmy asked. James
gave him a sarcastic look, he was not a person that gave up easily,
“Let’s try it again, this time try not to actually hit or kick, alright?”
Jimmy nodded and they tried the exercise again and again and each
time Jimmy grew stronger, they tried different exercises and after
many hours James taught his son all that he knew. Now that Jimmy
knew how to protect himself James felt better about having him
on the mission. After the practice Jimmy sat by his father at
the computer reading the information he had hacked off of the
enemies’ computer. Jimmy’s eyes widened, “Look at this, it looks
like they have been after us all along. It talks about capturing
me to set a trap for you.” James leaned closer to the computer
and nodded, “That’s why you were attacked two times by henchmen.”
Jimmy’s expression turned blank, he began to space out then he
looked back at James, “The President wanted me to go with you on
this mission so bad, that’s where the henchmen could have gotten
me. Do you think that there could be a connection there?” he asked.
“Defiantly,” James said, his expression turning angry, “Looks like
we have a traitor in our mists.” Jimmy sighed, “That may be what
mom was trying to tell you, it looks like we’re all in a lot more
danger than we thought. Sara was at the sight of the old UN
building looking for any clues that she could find, the henchman
behind her looked at her curiously, “What are you doing?” he
asked. “Looking for clues, and a way to transmit messages to James
and my son,” she answered. The man sighed, “I think I could be of
more help than that wreckage.” She turned to him with a questioning
look, “How would you know anything about the case?” she asked.
“I worked for him, the President has thousands of bases and
henchmen across the world.” “Why?” Sara asked. “Because he wants
to take over the world.” “If he wants the world then why is he
going after my son?” she asked with a bitter tone. “He wants your
son because he wants to set a trap for Bond, that way there is
no one to stop him, or at least he thinks so.” “It’s going to take
a lot to win this war,” Sara said. The man sighed, “Maybe we can
take this case to the army, tell them the information so it can
be spread to other countries, that way when they start to invade
we will have a chance in stopping them.” “Only problem is how
do we get them to believe us.” “Tell Bond to take the first step,
destroy the main base, the submarine down in the sea.” Sara nodded
“What is your name?” she asked. “Chris,” he answered. “Well Chris,
we’ve got a lot of work to do,” she said as they dug through the
pile of technologic equipment. James stared at the computer with
full attention while his son read all the evidence he stole.
Jimmy’s eyes widened, he pointed to a sentence on the page,
“They have been sending messages all over the world, is this how
they steal their information?” James shook his head, “Your mother
said that the hackers just took the information by typing the
pass words.” “If they knew the pass word, the traitor must know
everything about the computer security system. The only person
who would know is. . .” “The president,” James said finishing his
son’s sentence. “Why do you think they sent messages?” he asked
taking some of the papers in his hand. “They probably have other
bases or hideouts across the world, although I don’t know why.”
Jimmy looked at his father, his face pale. “They’re trying to take
over the world,” he said handing the papers to his father. James
looked down it, terror showed up on his usually calm face, “The
world is in our hands.” Jimmy snorted, “Great, no pressure there,”
he said sarcastically. James gave him a look of impatience, “When
are you ever going to get over that attitude?” he asked. An
unexpected grin spread across Jimmy’s face, “In a million years,
just to bug you.” James looked at him dismally, “When are you
going to get rid of yours?” Jimmy asked, with a mischievous smirk.
James picked up some of the small gadgets and gave Jimmy the same
smirk, “Come on, it’s now or never.” Jimmy looked at him in
surprise, his heart began to thump like crazy as he followed his
father to the beach. James knelt and looked into the water, “It’s
still in the same place as last time.” “What are we doing?” Jimmy
asked. “We’re going to blow up the submarine.” “You mean we have
to blow up bases, one by one?” “No, just this one, without the
commanding ship the others won’t be able to do a thing. Especially
with the cops after them,” He said holding up his communication
device. Though he tried to hold it back, Jimmy’s fear quickly
came over him, “Are you sure about this?” James nodded and put
a hand on Jimmy’s shoulder, “Don’t worry your with an expert.”
Despite his fear, Jimmy started to look mischievous again, “Great,
an expert that can’t drive I feel very reassured,” James scowled
at him, and Jimmy looked away, “Let me guess,” he said, “That
is the shut-up Jimmy look.” James nodded, “Now your getting it,”
he said as he handed Jimmy some of the equipment. James positioned
himself, “Get ready Jimmy, we’re going in.”
Sara knelt over a pile of computers and metal that had once been
part of the UN building. As she dug deeper her thoughts drifted
to her son and James, “I wish they were here right now,” she thought.
She knew that they had to be there to get rid of the terrorists,
but she still felt an emptiness inside of her, she felt so lonely
without her son. Chris got up from his work and turned to her,
“I think I’ve found some evidence over here,” he said. She walked
over to him and looked at what he held in his hands. “This is a
chip from the video camera, if we inhance it with the police
departments computer it should be able to show what happened.
Sara’s eyes widened, “Perfect let’s go.” The two adults raced
down the block with evidence that could change the fate of the
world. They burst into the police office and raced into the
investigation room leaving confused officers behind. Chris placed
the chip into the back of the computer the switched some of the
wires as Sara turned the computer on. Officers rushed into the
room, “What are you doing?” one asked in shock. “Saving the world,
so try to stay out of the way,” Sara answered. All of the officers
exchanged confused glances then looked at Sara sarcastically.
Sara sighed and got the officers out of the room so that she could
explain the situation. Chris stayed in the room typing away at
the computer, after a few hours of typing and switching circuits
the computer started the process. Sara walked through the door,
“How is it going with the chip?” she asked. “It should be ready
in a few minutes, did you get the officers to believe you?”
“They will only believe the situation if we have proof, they will
take us to the general of the east-coast army and discuss what
we should do.” Chris nodded, “I hope this works,” he said.
“So do I,” Sara said. The two rushed past the police officers
and ran all the way to the nearest army sight, hoping with all
their might that they could get reinforcements. Jimmy stood back
from the water, “You’ve gotta be kidding me!” he cried. James
sighed and looked at him dismally, “You’re on this mission Jimmy,
you have to help, this could save the entire world.” “Yeah, and
it could also be committing suicide.” James sighed and closed his
eyes to try to hold back the anger caused by impatience. “For once
in your life try to be brave,” he said right before he dove into
the water. Jimmy’s teeth clenched together tightly “I’ll show
you brave,” he muttered under his breath. Jimmy dove in after his
father and swam to the submarine with a heavy air tank on his back.
James took a high tech device from his pocket and connected it to
A tiny latch on the submarine, the door opened with ease and the
they swam into the outer casing of the ship both of them knew that
many dangerous things awaited them. Sara and Chris were out of
breath from running to the small, dark base. The general stood
before them thinking of the things that they had just told them,
he was not sure weather to believe them or not but the two had
told them that the world was at stake. “Do you have proof for this
… story?” he asked. Chris held out his palm, in it was the chip
that they had recovered. The General’s forehead creased, he
put the evidence into the nearest computer and Chris helped him
type the commands to make the computer show what was on the chip.
The general squinted because of the harsh sunlight he lifted
his head and watched as the computer reviled the truth. The
film stopped after a few minutes, Chris took the chip out and
let the general examine it. The general stood up looking as
dazed as ever, “All right,” he said,” We’ll help you.” Sara’s
smiled and her green eyes lit up in excitement, “Excellent, we
will need your army to take over all of the known bases then
we can put the terrorists where they belong.” The general nodded
and send for an emergency meeting in his office, he made a gesture
and Sara and Chris followed him down the hall. They stepped into
the large office and found themselves surrounded by solders, each
one looking at them with full attention. The general stepped
forward, “Men, we have an important battle ahead of us, one that
can change the entire world. There are terrorists hidden all over
the world, we need to notify every army there is, once that is
done we will get ready for a surprise attack against their hidden
base.” Some of the solders looked at each other in surprise,
others just nodded and looked serious. “Is this understood?” the
general asked. “Yes sir,” they said in unison. “Good, get to work.”
The solders stomped off to the computers and started typing
away. A smile spread across Sara’s face “I know the exact words
my son would say in this situation.” Chris turned to her, his
brown eyes full of wonder, “What would he say?” he asked with
a grin. “He’d say that these people are way too serious.” Chris
laughed, “He sounds like the comedian type.” “He is, I hope
that he turns back into his normal self.” Chris gave her a
questioning look and Sara sighed, “He’s going though an awkward
situation, his father just came back, and he’s never knew him.
Now there on a mission together, with the president after them.”
Sara looked away uncomfortably, “I’m sure that he’ll be all right.”
Chris said. Sara nodded and they both walked over to the general
to help with the preparation. After hours of warning leaders and
army sights they made plans for the war and went to sleep each
of them dreading the next day. Jimmy stood looking around in the
dark and dreary tunnels of the submarine. The two had made their
way into the upper level, but were still working on getting to the
bridge. Jimmy’s heart pounded but he tried to hide the fear, his
father looked back at him, “Do you have anything medal?” he asked.
Jimmy stayed silent, he was sidetracked by his fear. James nudged
him and Jimmy jumped and then sighed when he saw that it was only
his father. “What?” he asked with a shaky voice. James shook
his
head “I need something metal.” Jimmy took the chain off his pants
and gave it to James who just shrugged and tried to jam in into the
keyhole. “I thought you wanted to be a spy,” James said while he
worked. Jimmy shrugged “I did, but day dreaming about things and
actually doing them are two very different things.” James smiled
in the memory of his first years, “There’s one thing you have to
remember in this line of work, expect the unexpected.”
“Especially when your with someone that every terrorist wants to
kill,” Jimmy added with an unexpected grin. James gave him a
dismal look and Jimmy laughed inspite of his fear. James twisted
the chain that was connected to the wall and soon enough the
door began to open. James lead Jimmy into the gray room then
stopped him in his tracks, “Do you see that device over there?”
he asked pointing at the alarm system. Jimmy nodded, “I want you
to disengage the alarm and bring the security system offline,
I will be waiting for you in the room behind us.” Jimmy opened
his mouth to argue about the instructions but James stopped him
“Do you understand?” he asked in a gruff voice. “Yes,” he answered
dismally. “Go on, I’ll meet you by the nearest circuit in that
room,” James said. Jimmy ran through the room, hopping over wires
and circuits along the way, he stopped right beside the device
and closed his eyes to calm his beating heart. “Be brave,” he told
himself as he reached over to the alarm. He took a pin from his
pocket and carefully worked to get it off line, as soon as he took
it off he found himself surrounded by men. Scot stepped out from
the group, “Someone wants to have a word with you,” he said in an
evil voice. They dragged Jimmy away and even though he screamed
for his father, there was no way that he could hear him. Chris
woke up early with a plan forming in his mind, he got up and
shook Sara. “Come on Sara get up,” he said impatiently. Sara
stirred “Chris, it’s 5:00 am, go back to sleep.” “I have an idea
and I need your help.” Sara sighed, “What is it already?” she asked
in a cranky tone. “We need to set a false alarm to get the henchmen
out of there, the battle will be a lot easier that way.” “You’ve
got to be kidding me,” Sara said dismally. “Just trust me,” Chris
answered. With some more coaxing Chris finally got Sara up, the
two rushed out of the base each hoping that they weren’t noticed.
One of the solders heard there foot steps and ran out into the
hall, he stopped in surprise when he saw the two running out of
the base, instantly he knew where they were going. He woke up
the general and told him what he had seen, the general just shook
his head, “Take some of the men and follow them, alert the base
at the first sign of trouble.” “Yes, sir.” Sara and Chris walked
swiftly to his old base, “There’s a terminal along the back side
of the base, there we will be able to open the door and sneak
to the closest security alarm. There we can set up a false alarm
in a different part of the base.” Sara shook her head, “They’ll
catch us when they respond to the alarm,” she said. “Not if
we get the alarm to go off later, I know how to get to alarm
and I know how to set it up. You don’t have to worry about a
thing.” Sara shook her head, “This definitely sounds like a
suicide mission.” Chris gave her a dismal look and sighed, “Just
trust me,” he coaxed. “Lead the way, know-it-all,” Sara said.
Sara followed Chris as they came closer and closer to the base,
not even noticing the solders behind them. A slight fear came
over Sara as Chris knelt to open the door with the terminal,
“Are you really sure about this?” “I want to make up for all
the terror I’ve caused, you don’t have to go inside but I am.”
Sara bit her lip and followed him through the doors “I’m going
to regret this,” she whispered to herself. The door opened with
a quiet screech, they both looked up and heaved big sighs as they
quietly stepped through the opening of the hide-out. The men
behind them came to a brief stop, “What do they think they’re
doing?” one of the cried. The Sargent shushed the men and called
for the Lutenet, “Go back to the base and tell the General the
news, tell the commander to take his men and prepare for attack.”
The woman nodded and quickly followed the orders. The Sargent lead
the men closer to Sara and Chris, “Parker, Tompson, Brokowsky;
follow Sara and Chris in case they get into trouble.” “Yes sir,”
they said as they carefully walked through the opening. Sara,
Chris, and the unnoticed men hung close to the shadows and the
nearest wall. Chris carefully knelt down by the security alarm,
“Stand back Sara,” he said as he fettled with the gadget. Sara
scooted back and got prepared to run, Chris set the timer but
once he stood up a siren went off. The solders and the two
citizens ran for their life as the one lifeless hideout became
full of hostile enemies. Jimmy was carried to the darkest room
in the ship screaming and yelling the whole way. He was thrown
against the wall and left alone with the threat Scot had given
him making his stomach churn. “Cooperate or you will end up
like Jake,” he had said pointing to the dead body. The thought
made Jimmy shiver, there had to be some way to get out of this
place. He searched around the prison for any thing that could
help him. His eyes fell upon a small hole in the wall, with a
sigh he slowly crawled over to it and dug his hands into the
pocket of his wet jeans. Happily he pulled out the pin he used
to disengage the security alarm, “All right!” he said to himself.
He quickly twisted the wires with the pin and sent a signal to
his father’s computer. James had been looking at where his
son was when the message came on his computer. He looked down
surprised by the little beep sound that came out of the computer.
“Jimmy!” he exclaimed in a breath of relief. He sent signals
back and the two communicated by using Morris code. Jimmy turned
and saw men coming back the room, he warned his father and then
took the pin out and sat back as though he hadn’t done anything.
James took the little computer out of the power socket and
rushed over to the tanks on the wall, he cut a hole in the hose
and shoved all the electric things close to it. “Prepare for
an electric bomb, President,” he thought. James ran up the floors
following the brief and unsure directions Jimmy had given him.
His stomach felt as if it was tied in a knot, although he had
done this many times before, he had never done it for someone
that was as special to him. Having realized that James felt more
fear come over him and he started running faster, if he was going
to save him he would have to be fast. Sara ran as fast as she
could, her eyes widened with terror, “I thought you knew what
you were doing!” she exclaimed. “They must have put up a knew
security system while I was gone,” he said. “Naw, ya think?”
she said sarcastically. The solders ran quickly in the shadows
before Chris and Sara, Parker lifted his speaker to his wrist
“Prepare for battle, sir.” The three solders lead the way out
of the hidden base and got Sara and Chris to safety. “What are
all of you doing here?” Chris asked. “We don’t have time for
questions, Mr. Barkly,” said the commander with her men behind
her. “Thanks to you and your friend, we’ve started an early war.”
“We were trying to help!” Sara objected. “Yes,” she agreed “You
tried, but since you failed we have more trouble on our hands.”
The General came out of the huge crowd, “I think that for your
safety you should start walking back to base,” he said. The
enemy ran out of the hideout and starting running toward the
army, but Chris didn’t budge. “I’m not leaving until we’ve won
this war,” he said. Sara took a deep breath and hesitatingly
said the same words, with more courage than she felt. Solders
scurried by in a rush as the hidden base started it’s attack.
Chris stood armed and ready by Sara who was faking her brave
outlook. With out a second to spare the battle began with
ammunition flying through the air, Chris took his weapon and
charged at henchmen that had tricked him into becoming one of
them. Sara took a weapon from the general and tried her best to
brush her fear aside, she went over to her friend and fought
by his side. The solders that followed Sara and Chris went to the
back of the hideout and set off more alarms. The general and
Sargent shot canon balls at them from a mile a way. The Lutenit
and her men threw grenades at their base and hostile enemies.
Chris moved quickly in front of Sara killing one person every
step of the way, “We have to get into that base,” he told Sara,
“From there we can make everything in 20 feet of it blow up.”
“Why don’t you tell them your idea, I’m not going to go through
with another suicide trip,” she said sarcastically. Chris gave
her a hurt look, but Sara just shook her head, “I’m not falling
for it.” “Fine, be that way,” he said as he smacked a man into
the ground. Sara turned slightly to look around the base, a man
grabbed her back and tried to carry her off. “Chris!” she shouted
as she struggled in the man’s grip. Sara took a deep breath
and kicked the man hard in the back, they both fell and she shot
him to get away. Chris turned just as she ran up to him, “Where
the hell where you?” “Right here, why?” he asked with confusion
on his face. Sara shook her head, “He’s starting to sound like
Jimmy and James,” she thought, “I wonder what’s going on with
them now.” James jogged up the stairs, his heart beating more
than ever before. He turned to the right and found himself
in a dark hallway leading to a mysterious room, he crept in and
put his ear against the steal wall. He head Jimmy gasp loudly,
anger began to form in him, he quickly looked around the room
looking for anything sharp. In the next room Jimmy backed up
into the far corner of the room as the man before him stepped
closer and closer. “Daddy’s not here to save you this time boy!”
the man exclaimed cruelly as he pulled his hood back. Jimmy gasped
“President, you’re supposed to be in America, in jail.”
“In jail, me!” he exclaimed. “You tried to kill everyone in the
UN building,” Jimmy answered in a shaky voice. “You have no proof
of that, little boy!” “That’s teenager!” The President gave him
a cold look, “Sir,” Jimmy added with a gulp. The President
shoved him against the wall, “All right you little woos, let’s
see what you’ve got.” Jimmy let a slow shaky breath escape his
lips, “Come on Jimmy, be brave,” he told himself. Jimmy shoved
the President out of the way, then kicked him in the stomach.
“All right sir, now let’s see what you’ve got!” he yelled driving
his fear away. The man got up and sneered at Jimmy, “It’s not
going to be that easy boy,” he said as he kicked Jimmy in the
shin. He punched Jimmy in the stomach then kicked in the side
until it bleed, Jimmy fought back as best as he could but he
soon found himself on the cold black floor. “I guess you can’t
learn Karate in one day,” Jimmy thought. Jimmy hit the President
with his knee and rolled closer to the steel wall, he heard
thumping on the other side. “Dad,” he called weakly. The President
ran over to him and threw him against the wall, then he turned a
grinder on and directed it toward Jimmy. Both of them turned to
see a sparkling light come through the wall, a big chunk of steel
fell from the wall and revealed a tall dark figure with glowing
eyes. The man stepped into the light and took a swing at the
President, “Your fight is with me!” he yelled. Jimmy looked at
his father and felt relief overcome him then quickly go away as he
noticed the sharp grinder coming toward him. He slammed his fist
against the wall to get his father’s attention, but the battle
distracted James. Punches were thrown and blocked as the grinder
came closer and closer to Jimmy. Jimmy kicked and tried to scream
but nothing could get their attention and there was no other way
for him to escape. The chains around Jimmy’s feet began to rub
hard on his skin, he quickly took a piece of severed metal and
threw it in there direction. The medal hit James in the head,
he kicked the President down and whirled to see his son in trouble.
He took the piece of medal and threw it at the controls just as
the grinder began to pierce Jimmy’s skin, Jimmy dropped lifeless
as the grinder zipped to the other side of the room. James pushed
the President into it’s path and jerked back as the man was ripped
into shreds because of his own plan. Jimmy tossed and turned
groaning as James raced to his side, “Be strong, it will be all
right,” he said as he gently picked him up. James rushed down the
stairs, he looked at Jimmy’s watch; they had 10 seconds left.
Quickly he ran down the hall with his son in his arms, he looked
around and ran into an escape pod. Putting Jimmy down James
punched the coordinates and launched the ship with 3 seconds to
spare. The submarine blew up behind them making ash designs in
the cool water. Jimmy slowly opened his eyes to see his father
staring at him from the chair by the computer keyboard. “Jimmy?”
he asked not sure if he was awake. Jimmy nodded and James rushed
to his side, James stroked his son gently, “I thought I lost you,”
he said with a sigh of relief. “Who are you and what have you done
with my dad,” he thought as James put his arms around him. Jimmy
smiled, although this seemed a bit strange he knew that he now
had the type of father he wanted. “You almost did,” he replied,
“Thanks dad.” James gently held his son close in a brief hug,
Jimmy got a warm feeling inside, and he knew that it would last
forever, “I love you,” he said. A tear dropped from James’s cheek
as he kissed Jimmy on the top of the head, “I love you too.”
The escape pod landed safely on the Iranian beach and James
helped his son get ashore. He called secret agent headquarters
and told the pilot to be on his way. The thought of leaving the
desert country brought a smile to Jimmy’s face as he laid on the
sand, he rolled over and groaned as pain began to strike.
“This pilot had better come quick or I sue the hell out of ‘em,”
he said. “Oh, will you,” James said with an amused look on his
face. Jimmy looked up at his father’s face and gave him an innocent
look “I just said hell didn’t I?” he asked. James nodded, Jimmy
turned his head “Thought so,” he said pretending to ignore the
fact. James laughed and ruffled Jimmy’s hair, “Here take this,”
he said giving him a tiny pill. Jimmy took it and began to chew
it, “Don’t chew it …” James said just as Jimmy bit into it.
Jimmy wrinkled his nose, “Now you tell me.” Both of them looked
into the sky to see a helicopter coming down, James picked his son
up and laid him on the seat behind him. “Looks like you won’t
have to sue them,” he said with a grin. Jimmy gave him a sarcastic
look and the helicopter flew into the sky back toward the base.
Sara ran up to Chris, who was walking closer to the enemy base,
she brushed her matted blond hair out of her face, “I think I’ll
stick by your side.” “I thought we weren’t going to take another
suicide trip,” he said mockingly. “Even if I don’t go with you
I’ll still be going through a suicide trip,” she said dismally,
“Besides, I’d rather fight by someone that I know.” Chris gave
her a small grin then tossed his black hair out of his eyes. He
lead her to the back of the base and quickly ripped off the panel,
“Hold these,” he said handing her two blue and yellow wires.
Chris took a piece of wire from the ground and used it to cut
through the red and green wires, then he took the other two wires
from Sara and twisted them around each other. “I fail to see what
good this will do,” Sara said wryly. “You’ll see,” he said. His
lips curved into a secretive smile as he put the wire ends
together. He shoved Sara down with him into the dirt and covered
their heads just before the base blew up. The solders ran back
in surprise, they looked around and found that all the henchmen
were killed, along with some of their men. Chris stood up and
helped Sara get to her feet, “Next time your going to do something
like that warn me,” said Sara with a dismal attitude. Chris gave
her a mischievous look, and Sara shook her head. “You used to be
so mature, what the hell happened!” “I actually got out of the
habit of being brain washed,” he said. Sara snorted, “Yes and
now your brain has been washed away.” Chris gave her a sarcastic
look, “One of these days, you will pay for that,” he said walking
away. “Sure I will,” Sara said rolling her eyes. The army people
took the dead bodies and hide them in the nearest places, “If
any of the terrorists come they won’t know who killed the people
in this base,” the General explained as they began walking back.
“There are still more bases out there, sir,” Chris said. “Yes, I
know but with the world’s help we’ll get ride of these terrorists
for good.” The solders walked back to the base with the two
commoners by their sides. Sara and Chris slept at the base again,
exhausted by the day they had experienced. The two had done what
no commoner had ever done before, blew up terrorists; and secretly
they both had little day dreams of how they hoped they would be
rewarded.
James and Jimmy soon reached the base that they had contacted
in the nearest country; Kuwait. It appeared like most of the
scenery around there, mud-like buildings surrounded by sandy
dunes in the desert. James turned to where his son was asleep
in the back seat and shook him gently, “Come on Jimmy, we have
to get you inside,” he said. James lifted Jimmy up in his arms
and carried him onto the plane platform just a few inches from
the base. He laid Jimmy down on the floor of the back room and
took a pill out of his pocket. Balancing the pill on his hand
he got Jimmy to sit up, “Swallow this,” he said as he placed it
on Jimmy’s tongue. Jimmy let out a small groan as he attempted
to swallow it, on the second try he got the pill down his throat
and sipped some Pepsi that the flight attendant had offered.
In a couple of minutes Jimmy fell asleep dropping on the floor
as if he was dead. James took some clear solvent from the sink
in the corner of the room and carefully healed the deep cuts
in his son’s skin. “We’ll be home soon,” he said ruffling Jimmy’s
hair. The plane soured up into the sky going further and further
away for the Arabian deserts. Sara and Chris woke up sore, but
happy that the day had come, both wondered what they were going
to get or help with next. They walked down the hall to the
General’s office and waited for him to come out the door. Chris
gave her a mischievous look, “I bet I’m getting the most money,”
he said. “I really doubt that alarm boy,” she said giving the
same grin back to him. “Excuse me miss hot-shot secretary!”
“And don’t you forget that,” Sara thought. The door behind them
opened with a creek revealing a tired General with a bad hair
day. Yawning he gestured for them to come into the office and
sit, they did so and listened intently to what he was about to
say. “I’m glad that you’re still here, the solders wanted to
give you a special gift before you left.” “Left?” asked Chris
with his face knotted up with confusion. “Yes of course, we can’t
let commoners fight with solders, you’d be killed.” “We survived
the last battle,” Sara reminded him. The man nodded, “Yes, we
let you stay because we hoped that you would lead us to the
henchmen, and you did. That is why we wanted to thank you before
you had to go.” “We helped you and now your just going to kick
us back onto the streets!?” exclaimed Chris. “This is a government
project now, we thank you for your cooperation but now we no
longer need your help.” Sara and Chris exchanged sarcastic looks
then turned to the General to complain. “Lieutenant,” the General
spoke through the speaker, “escort Sara and Chris out of the base.”
“Yes, sir.” Sara and Chris soon found themselves outside the
base with some solders waving from the other side of the fence.
“I can’t believe he did this to us,” Chris said angrily. Sara
shrugged “There’s the government for you,” she said leading him
down the street. Chris sighed, “Where are we going?” he asked her.
“Well, since we’ve got nowhere else to go we’re going to my house,
or what’s left of it.” A guilty expression appeared on Chris’s
face, but he hid it by turning away. Sara lead Chris down the
streets turning away from streets with too much traffic, she rushed
down one street and ran on the next nearly dragging Chris behind
her. Finally they turned into the driveway, Chris collapsed
on the cement while Sara rushed to the door. “What is your hurry?
Are you trying to kill me?!” Chris said as he got up. Sara opened
the door looked around and turned to him, “I guess I got my hopes
up, they’re not here.” She sat on the step and held her head in
her hands, “I just hope that Jimmy and James are ok.” “Your son
and his father?” Sara nodded. “I’m sure they’re fine, from what
you told me I could tell that they’re pretty tough.” Sara sighed,
“James is tough, but I’m not so sure about Jimmy.” “At least
he’s with someone tough.” Sara nodded, “You’re right, they’re
probably fine.” Chris helped her up and they walked into the
living room. Chris sat on the couch. “When the UN building is
repaired I’ll try to get you a job in one of the departments, in
the meantime you can stay here,” Sara said as she headed toward
her room. “I think I’ll get some rest,” she said. Chris looked
at the clock, it was only 9:00, she must be pretty tired.
“Who could blame her,” Chris thought as he remembered all that they
had gone through. All of a sudden Chris heard a helicopter coming
toward the house, his eyes widened, “Sara! Did you hear that?”
Sara ran out of her room and opened the door to see the helicopter
coming down on the front lawn, Chris ran up behind her, “What’s
going on?” he asked. “They’re home,” she said smiling. James
turned around in the helicopter and gently shook Jimmy, “Son,
we’re home.” Jimmy’s eyes widened, he looked out the window
“Dad, what was in that pill?” he asked suspiciously. James
gave him a mischievous smile, “Just something to make you sleep.”
Jimmy gave him a sarcastic look, “It’s better that you slept,
otherwise you would have been hurting pretty bad,” he said pointing
at the scar on his chest. Jimmy looked at it in surprise then looked
up at James again, “You know, I really hate it when you don’t tell
me anything.” James helped him out of the back seat and watched
him yet out of the helicopter. Jimmy ran to Sara faster than he
ever thought possible, Sara caught him in a big hug. “I’m so glad
you’re ok!” she cried. “I was pretty worried about you two, what
happened over here when you were trying to communicate?” Sara
put an arm around him as they all walked in and exchanged stories.
After Sara told her story the room became silent, Jimmy looked
over at Chris, who just seemed to stare off into space. Once
James got done with his story about the terrorists the conversation
changed to the matter of how they were to deal with the other
bases. Chris finally got so tired that he went to sleep in the
guest room, Jimmy soon did the same and James and Sara stayed
up to talk some more. “I’m glad that you were able to get yourself
out of that mess,” Sara said. “With our son in one peace,” James
added. Sara nodded and gave him a small grin, “Did you two learn
to get along?” she asked. “Better than I expected, you did a
good job with him so far.” “So far, do you expect me to mess up
or something?” Sara asked in a sarcastic tone. “No, but this time
I’ll be responsible enough to help.” “You, responsible that’s
hard to believe,” She said. “Until a few days ago you hadn’t seen
me in sixteen years, are you saying that I could never change?”
Sara gave him a sly smile, “I don’t know you told me you’d be
back sixteen years ago, and you never came until I gave you
a mission.” “I’ll be there for you and Jimmy, I promise.” The
two leaned closer and closer to each other then gently pressed
their lips together. Jimmy came out of his room in his PJ’s
and looked over at them, “Oooh,” Jimmy said trying not to laugh.
“Go back to bed,” they said in unison. Jimmy gave them a smile
and then headed back, “Good night,” he called. “Good night,” they
repeated. The next morning Jimmy woke up refreshed, he walked
out to the kitchen and since he had nothing better to do he started
cooking breakfast. Sara and James were both asleep on the couch
when the aroma of pancakes awakened them, they slowly got up and
stopped at the kitchen door and watched Jimmy at the stove. Chris
woke up a few minutes afterward and came into the kitchen, “Hey
chief boyardee, what’s cooken?” he asked with a grin. Jimmy turned
and rolled his eyes at him, he set the plates with pancakes down
on the table and gestured for the rest of them to sit down.
“Where did you learn to cook?” James asked. “By overhearing the
cooking channel all day,” Jimmy replied looking at his mom.
Sara shook her head and they all ate the breakfast each of them
feeling slight indigestion from eating too quickly. James stood
up and took his coat from the rack, “I think it’s about time I
left,” he said. “Why who called for you now?” asked Sara.
“China, some of the English are trying to take Hong-Kong back.”
Jimmy nodded, his thoughts started getting blurred, he followed
his mom and dad out the door, and Chris decided to stay on the
doorstep. James stood on the curb and not a second later did
a car speed up the street and stop right by James’s heels. Jimmy
smiled despite his cloudy feelings, “That guys even worse at
driving than dad!” he thought. James saw him smiling, “Don’t
even think about saying it,” he said with an amused look. “Say
what, I don’t know what your talking about!” Jimmy said looking
innocent. James shook his head and gave Jimmy a small hug, Jimmy’s
emotions came over him. “You’re coming back this time, right?”
James nodded, “I promise, I’ll be back.” Jimmy sighed and James
gave him another hug, he slipped a communicator into his hand,
“Keep in touch, son.” Jimmy smiled and put it in his pocket,
James walked over to Sara and gave her a long good-bye kiss.
“God, get a room!” Jimmy thought with an amused look. James
ruffled his son’s hair and with that he was gone, but this time
they knew that he would be back. The government gave them awards
and took care of the terrorists. Sara got Chris a job at the UN
as soon as the building was repaired. He moved out able to
support himself, the two still remained friends and Sara felt
even closer to her son. And as for Jimmy and James, they learned
the special bond that they shared could not be broken by any
force. For once they were all a family, which just goes to show
you that yesterday never dies.
