The silent ones

The silent people,
Who hide in shadows
Are often the prudent of society.

They don?t seem to have lives,
Nor do they seem to be any fun.
Never on the social list
Do they come out number one.

They don?t talk much,
But they have views;
 Not all that lively,
But are dependable.

The outsider would generally call them:
Sweet, but shy.

If they do not socialize much,
They must be shy, right? ?

To an understanding friend,
These people would be
Caring and unique:
They would be seen for who they are,
And not who they appear to be.

Shy?  Perhaps?it depends on the person,
But that may not always be the case:
It may only be matter of being reserved.
Sweet? That also depends?
There may be more beyond the surface.

The silent ones are people too,
Even if they may be hard to understand.
They have personalities like everyone else,
Simply, one needs to look a little closer.

Actions are often subtle:
What seems melodramatic to them
Is perfectly normal to others.

Don?t ignore them,
Nor push them aside.
For it is often the silent ones
Who have the most to say.
